ThinkGospel.com, the outreach ministry of Victoria Free Presbyterian Church, (BC, Canada) is available online 24/7 as an attractive multimedia gospel tract. ThinkGospel presents a basic gospel message in audiovisual and written form.

The Need for ThinkGospel.com

We are living in the post-print age. Since the Internet became accessible to the public in 1991 it has revolutionised communication and opened up an unprecedented field of information. A recent article in USA Today reported that a survey last year found that “more people used the Internet to look for religious and spiritual information than to download music, participate in online auctions, [etc.]” If this survey reveals an honest picture of the preferences of individuals then it is our aim to take advantage of this medium.

Realising that it is increasingly difficult to distribute conventional tracts, get the unsaved into Church, or to engage individuals in conversation, ThinkGospel seeks to utilise technology for the glory of God and take advantage of the preference of millions who would rather ‘surf the net’ in the privacy of their own home.

The Objective of ThinkGospel.com

As far as our local congregation in Victoria is concerned we have three main objectives for ThinkGospel: 1. To evangelise the lost, 2. To advertise the Church, 3. To encourage individuals in personal evangelism. While at present ThinkGospel is the ministry of Victoria Free Presbyterian Church, we would encourage churches and individuals to use it as a platform for their own evangelism and outreach. At present we are working with SermonAudio on new video and audio material for the site and hope within a few months to have a range of multimedia material that will be more user-friendly and easily updated. The future vision would be to accommodate the personal evangelistic preferences of churches and individuals enabling them to upload their own material and manage their own correspondence.

How can you help ThinkGospel.com?

The first thing, and the most important, is prayer. Pray that the Lord would be pleased to use this site in saving souls. ThinkGospel has printed business cards, that can easily fit in a wallet or purse. One side has the web address and the other side has a series of questions related to the different issues addressed on the website. You can distribute the cards among unsaved friends, family and acquaintances. You can order these cards online by clicking on the ‘support’ tab. If you have the opportunity to advertise the website by displaying posters or other sign advertisement we can facilitate that. Other methods for speeding the gospel through this medium are; emailing the link to friends and family, putting it permanently as a signature at the end of your personal email, or putting links on websites or blogs, the ideas are endless.
