Meditations on Christ the Redeemer

How entirely does His kingdom differ from the kingdoms of this world, in its principles, and privileges, and purposes, and permanency! Like the songs of the angels at the birth of its king, it proclaims glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will to men. The end for which it was established was the salvation of man, and the glory of God. Its reign is spiritual in its character, is destined to be universal in its power and blessing, and everlasting in its duration; immortality its day, and eternity its crown.
