Homosexuality is corrupt; it is a sin against God.

  • In Genesis (13:13; 19:25) we find the clearest presentation of God’s hatred for the sin of Sodomy.
  • In Leviticus, the life of holiness that is to characterize the Christian deals with a variety of sexual sins. In 18:22 and 20:13 the Lord address specifically the sin of homosexuality
  • In the New Testament Paul condemns homosexual practices in Romans 1:26-27, in I Corinthians 6:9-10 and again in I Timothy 1:9-10.
(I may come back in a later post and open up some of these Scriptures.)

Homosexuality is a crime against Society.

I have stated on an earlier post that the government has a duty to protect its citizens (Romans 13:3). Any thing, practice or person that endangers the safety of a people the government is obligated to remove from society. Some trucks and cars are installed with regulators to prevent access speed and potential death. The murderer is still under criminal sanctions. However, in 1967 the British government past the Sexual Offences Act of 1967 and in Canada, on August 26th 1969, the Canadian government past a similar Act declaring the decriminalization of homosexual practice between two persons 21 years of age and older.

Both these dates were before the formal identification of HIV (early 1980’s). Since the early eighties however nothing has been done to criminalize those in society who precipitate the disease by immoral practices. Indeed not only is homosexuality decriminalized, but it has been legalized in many countries in more recent years. The Gay-Agenda monster is fully grown and its crushing pandemic footprint is evident in the society we live in.

How should the Christian think and act regarding this movement? Love, respect and courtesy for human beings made in the image of God should govern our interaction at all times and with all people. Personalized insults and slanders, angry protests and shouting have no place in the biblical approach.  These might make the participant feel good in himself and serve as fodder for his pride, but they effect nothing. The calm, logical presentation of the truth is the only effectual method, carried home to the heart by the Spirit of God through prayer. “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but are mighty through God…”  II Corinthians 10:4.

It is not the frenzy of protests that win hearts, but the fruit of the Spirit (“love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance…”) Galatians 5:22. The sooner Christians learn this the better for the Church of Christ and the world at large.
