Reading: “And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.” —Galatians 4:6
Our hearts are the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the agent of our union with Christ and also of our sanctification. We know that God has called us to be holy, yet we are conscious that each day there is a struggle within. We are reminded throughout Scripture that God has called us unto holiness and for this holiness God hath also given us His Holy Spirit. The power of sanctification then is the Holy Spirit in us—“greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). It is the Spirit within me that maintains the desire for holiness, and it is the Spirit that gives the ability to be holy.
