Reading: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.”Romans 6:1–2

Daily DevotionalsThe Christian life should be a continual, diligent contemplation of Christ and His work of redemption for us. Christ’s redemption is not just to deliver us spiritually but physically also—it extends to every part of our corporeal frame. Our hands are His, our mouth, brain, etc. Paul calls upon the Christian to consider redemption as a primary reason for avoiding sin in the physical realm. Before we would seek to find a moment of pleasure in a particular sin, we should consider the tremendous grief that Christ experienced atoning for that sin.

Sin considered in light of Calvary becomes horrid. Put the cross between you and your sin, and sin will lose its attractiveness.
