Reading: “What manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness” 2 Peter 3:11

The terminology we use in Christianity reflects our Trinitarian religion. Christianity is the name of our religion. We are followers of Christ. We love Him because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). He gave Himself for us and has reconciled us to the God. We look to Him by faith, love him, serve him and long to be like him. The nature of Christianity however is reflected in the word Spirituality. The Holy Spirit brings Christ to our heart, turns our heart to Christ and produces the fruit of Christlikeness in the heart (Galatians 5:22-23).

Godliness is the goal of our religion. We practice true religion only when our lives reflect the terminology we use. Godliness is lived out by faith in Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christianity is the pursuit of Godliness through a process of Spirituality.
