We cannot fully understand the sufferings of Christ; the Lord only knows what is included in the curse of the moral law, and what is the true and utmost desert of sin, which Christ endured in our stead. How, then, do we know what Christ suffered, when the punishment due to our sins, when all our iniquity, was laid upon Him, and He had the curse of the law upon Him? The Lord only knows what these things include.
