Reading: “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Thought: Nothing will come into my life that can separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Meditation: God’s sovereignty is omnipotent. There are many mighty things in my life that threaten my spiritual balance; but He is almighty. Nothing can destroy what God has initiated (Philippians 1:6). What He authors, He accomplishes (Hebrews 12:2). His love is everlastingly immutable (Malachi 3:6; Jeremiah 31:3). These are bold assertions, but they come with divine authority and are profoundly comforting. I am not depending on my hold on God, but on His hold on me.

I should not judge the Lord by feeble sense or measure him by the fickleness of things around me. Amid the tormenting restrictions of human frailty there is liberating power in the attributes of God.
